Iseries Access für Windows / Filetransfer geht nicht mehr.

Wir haben eine 9406-270 mit IOS 7.1 im Einsatz. Greifen vom PC mit Iseries Access für Windows V5R4 zu. Filetransfer von und zur Maschine klappte bis letzte Woche ohne Probleme. Nach Tausch eines defekten Raid Controllers sind die Datenbanken vom PC aus nicht mehr erreichbar. Fehler CWBDB0036 Server hat SQL Fehler zurückgegeben ???? -.. oder im Navigator der Fehler: Beim initialisieren der Liste ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. An der CLient Installation liegt es nicht, da ich auf ein älteres System zugreifen kann und da läufts perfekt. Wer hat eine Idee ??

V7R1 hat im Bereich ODBC schon einiges geändert was mit CA 5.3 nicht mehr kompatibel ist.
Mit dem Client V6R1 und letztem Servicepack kann man von V5R4 bis V7R3 das meiste machen.
Aber irgendwann ist halt Schluss.

Das sehe ich auch so. Komisch, das bis vorletzte Woche, als die Maschine einen Hitzekollaps hatte und der Raid Controller abgeraucht ist, alles perfekt funktionierte. Hab schon das JAVA Lizenzprogramm gelöscht und neu installiert. Hat aber nichts gebracht.

IBM iSeries Navigator Hangs Unexpectedly When Accessing Components

IBM iSeries™ Navigator returns the message: an error occurred while attempting to initialize the list : the requested operation can not be performed because the server connection has dropped . The client was unable to utilize the functionality of all components in iSeries Navigator. After attempting to expand the component, iSeries Navigator hangs for an abnormally long amount of time before finally returning the error message stated above.

After running a Java Trace through IBM iSeries Access for Windows, the following exception appeared:

The problem is related to the existence of IPv6 and JRE1.4.1 on the individual PC. To resolve the problem, do the following:

Step 1: Determine if IPv6 is installed on the PC. Do the following:



1 Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections .
2 Right-click on Local Area Connection .
3 Left-click on Properties .
4 Determine if Internet Protocol IPv6 (TCP/IP) is under This connection uses the following items: in the General tab.

Step 2: Ensure the client is on at least service level SI17742 for V5R3.

Step 3: Determine the JRE version. Do the following:


1 Open a DOS command prompt.
2 Type the following:
cd \Program Files\IBM\Client Access\JRE\Bin\
3 Type the following:
java -version

then press the Enter key to view the JRE version information.

Step 4: If the JRE version is 1.4.1, then install JRE1.4.2 . JRE 1.4.2 can be downloaded at the following Web site:

ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/v5r3m0/servicepack/si17742/jre/V5R3JRE142.exe

The JRE1.4.2 fix package will correct the issue.

Am RAID-Controller liegt es garantiert nicht - eher an (nach dem zum Tausch notwendigen runter- und rauffahren) fehlenden Diensten. Mal ein STRHOSTSVR *ALL probieren. Mit Netstat, 3 kontrollieren, was läuft.
