OK V5R4 is very old.
What type of emulation supports your printer?
Any HP-language like PCL4 or PCL5?
When you create a device, the protocol is urgent to know. Only IBMSNMPDRV does work in Driver settings.
Alternate you can create the printer onyl with CRTOUTQ to create a Remote-Outq, just with IP.
But than you have to know someting about the printer.

In most cases, the printer may only be working with a printer 5250-Session from Client Access.

Hello
many thanks for your reply .. sorry but i'm not an expert in printers

What kind of emulation does your printer support? : on this page https://www.printerland.co.uk/product/oki-es7170dn/134299 I find "PCL5c, PCL5e, PCL6, Postscript 3 emulation, PDF emulation, XPS"
Any HP language like PCL4 or PCL5? â € see point before ..
When you create a device, the protocol is urgent to know Only IBMSNMPDRV works in the driver settings. What do you mean? that I have to use BMSNMPDRV .. other values are not good?
Alternatively you can create the printer only with CRTOUTQ to create a remote outq, only with IP. But then know something about the printer - what do you mean when you say "you need to know something about the printer"?

sorry but I'm a bit confused ..

last thing: I found this task "http://newsolutions.de/forum-systemi-as400-i5-iseries/threads/19465-Einheitenbeschreibung-f%C3%BCr-OKI- ES7170 -MFP"

do you think it is possible to contact miky to find out how he configured OKIES7170?

Thanks in advance

Look ath the CHGDEVPRT-Command from your printer, press F9 to see all and go down to the driver settings SYSDRVPGM (https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.1?topic=ssw_ibm_i_71/cl/crtdevprt.htm#CRTDEVPRT.SYSDRVPGM). Change it to IBMSNMPDRV.
But in another thread you told, that you can print SCS and have only problems with AFPDS, so the driver is not the problem.
Choose a HPPCL-WSCST in WSCST-Option.

Please make not 2 questions for the same problem.

It's already existing. Choose correct Modell (F4).
