Brainbridge is a dedicated information systems services company, currently looking for a freelance AS400 Support Engineer for one of our clients.
The position will be based in Wilrijk (Antwerp, Belgium), starting ASAP.

Our client is an international industrial group with more than 26.000 employees across the globe and has a turnover of more than 5 billion Euro. They have world-leading positions in the area of compressors, mining and construction equipment, power tools and assembly systems.
Our clients department in Europe is a company dedicated to provide high quality administrative services to the European sales companies. The organization consists of a hub of 33 people located in Wilrijk; Antwerpen and some 300 people around Europe, forming one ASAP team in each country. The mission of ASAP is to provide our customers with IT and administrative services of high quality and efficiency, and thereby lower costs. Development of the services is a prerequisite to fulfill this mission.
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR A PERMANENT POSITION
Responsibilities:
- Perform various data manipulations on the AS/400
- Manage the processes to update pricing, customer and product
information to ensure changes are made with accuracy and speed.
- Write queries/programs based on user requirements.
- Provide BPCS - AS/400 Client Access desktop support.
- Investigate and resolve system problems related to automated functions
within BPCS.
- take up the weekly rotating role of providing support outside business hours.
- Experience in SAP is a plus.
Technical environment:
- 5 years of AS400 data administration experience including RPG
programming. (knowlegde of BPCS is a plus)
- Experience in SAP is also a plus.
- Bachelor degree in Information Technology
Personal skills:
- Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to investigate
and resolve system issues.
- Strong data and process analysis skills. Able to analyze information
and situations, propose solutions, recognize alternatives, and present
information in a logical and objective manner.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of end users.
- Knowledge of English is a must, other languages are a plus.
