Der iSeries-Name und der NetServer-Name dürfen durchaus identisch sein, es funktioniert, und der Zugriff auf die Freigaben kann dann auch über den iSeries-Namen erfolgen.

Zu V4R5 kann ich da allerdings nichts mehr sagen.

Prüfe nochmal, was der Rückkehrcode 16 ggf. bedeuten könnte (fehlendes Lizenzprogramm?).

Problem Summary:
NetServer fails to start. Message CPIB683- The AS/400 Support for Windows Network Neighborhood (AS/400 NetServer) was unable to star t with RC6 (reason code 6). RC16 (return code 16) is found in the QSYSOPR message queue.

Resolution:
Help text for RC6 RC16 reads as follows: Start of the internal server failed with return code &2. Note: Return code 16 indicates that there is another computer on the network already using the same name as the AS/400 NetServer server name.

This usually indicates that the NetServer name is the same as the computer name of some other active computer on the network.

To confirm whether another computer with this name is active on the network, run the following command from the PC DOS Prompt:

NET VIEW \\computername

where computername is the Netserver Name.

This command lists all resources shared by a computer. If this command returns a list of resources or the message There are no entries in the list the computer was found. If it returns System error Error 5 has occurred and Access is Denied, the computer was found but the user ID and password combination that was sent to the Netserver are not valid on the iSeries 400 server. If it returns System error 53 has occurred and The network path was not found , the computer could not be found.

This problem can also occur if the NetServer domain name is the same as the NetServer server name. To verify that the names are not the same, take the following steps in Operations Navigator:

1 Expand the AS/400 Connection .
2 Expand Network .
3 Expand Servers .
4 Select TCP/IP . This returns a list of TCP/IP Servers including the AS/400 Netserver .
5 Right-click on AS/400 Netserver , and select Properties .
6 On the General tab, compare the Server Name and the Domain Name .
To change the domain name: 1 Click on the Next Start button.
2 Change the Domain Name to match an existing Windows Domain or Workgroup name.
