FTP Server fails to start. FTP server joblog shows the following message: TCP12F0 - FTP server initialization failure . The WRKREGINF command shows all of the following FTP exit points: QIBM_QTMF_CLIENT_REQ, QIBM_QTMF_SERVER_REQ, QIBM_QTMF_SVR_LOGON, QIBM_QTMF_SVR_LOGON, and QIBM_QTMF_SVR_LOGON and no exit programs defined.

Removing and reinstalling the FTP exit points did not fix this problem. Further review of the FTP server joblog shows the following message before message TCP3D2C: TCP3D2C - Secure connection error, return code -1009 ( UNUSED). RC1009 can be caused by having a certificate (that does not exist) assigned to the FTP server application ID. Certificate assignments are stored in QUSRSYS/QYCDCERTI. Check the certificate assignment in DCM.

Because SSL is not configured (as a result not used), SSL was disabled using the CHGFTPA ALWSSL(*NO) command.

The server will then start successfully.
