Problem bei Fachansteuerung HP Drucker

Von der AS/400 aus leider nein.
Das Fach wird im Spool fix vorgegeben.

Prüfe mal beim Drucker (Handbuch, Doku), welche Einstellmöglichkeiten es so gibt.
Ggf. kann man auch eine andere Init-Sequenz (auch im WSCST) angeben, die das automatische Weiterdrucken ermöglicht.

Hallo,
der Hinweis auf's Benutzer Handbuch des Druckers scheint die Lösung zu sein.
Im Menü Paper Setup muss folgendes eingestellt sein:

Paper out action = override
number of seconds to delay = 0

dann funktioniert der Zugriff auf Fach 3, wenn Fach 2 kein Papier mehr hat.

Auf diese Weise muss man auf der AS/400 weiter nichts einstellen.

Warum das allerdings ohne diese Einstellung am Drucker mit Word und Excel funktioniert, bleibt mir ein Rätsel.

Das Rätsel ist eigentlich gar keins:
Für alle Funktionen eines Druckers gibt es ESC.Sequenzen, die die Hersteller leider selten rausrücken.
Auf der AS/400 muss man ein Fach angeben (Fach 1 ist default).

In Windows ist die Defaulteinstellung "Automatisch"!

Stelle mal in Excel/Word das Fach fix auf 2, dann wirst du wohl die selben Probleme bekommen.

Wenn du eine kleine Datei (am Besten über Notepad) druckst und die Ausgabe in eine Datei umleitest musst du die Ausgabe mittels Hex-Editor analysieren.
Du erstellst 2 Ausdrucke, 1x mit Fach 2, 1x mit automatisch. Dann vergleichst du den Output um die unterschiedlichen ESC-Sequenzen für das Fach zu finden.
Die Sequenz für automatisch überträgst du dann für Fach 2 ins WSCST.

Und schon ist das Rätsel gelöst .
