im APC Forum habe ich dies gefunden:

Configuring the UPS data cable port
The specific i5 UPS serial port can be used for more than one purpose. To have this port configured as a UPS data cable port, the i5 must be turned off AND completely unplugged from 110 volt power. Pull the power cord (or two power cords if there are two power units) from the back of the i5 server. After the 400 is unplugged, attach the correct data cable, and turn on the UPS. Once the UPS is fully operational with the data cable connected to the i5 and UPS, THEN attach the i5 power cord(s) and boot up the i5 server. The i5 will recognize that there is a UPS data cable attached during the IPL (boot) process and will configure the port for a UPS data cable automatically. This will only work if the correct data cable is attached to a working UPS BEFORE the power cord is plugged into the i5.
If the i5 is later booted (IPL’ed) without the data cable attached, the port may (probably will) revert back to being a serial modem port. That could easily have happened during their many iterations of rebooting, different ports, different UPS data cables, etc.

Kann es auf Deinem System vielleicht auch so passiert sein ?

Hallo Tarasik,

das Verfahren der Einschalterei kenne ich seit dem es Power5 gibt.
In NRW habe ich die erste i5 auf dem Tisch gehabt die IBM ausgeliefert hat und habe entsprechend früh Bekanntschaft mit dem USV-Signal-Problem gehabt.
Damals stand in den Büchern noch T1 (anstatt T2) für den USV-Signal-Anschluss der i5 :-))

Deshalb ist die Fehlersuche und Testerei auch so ätzend blöd. An dem System hängen 1K User, da ist nix mit mal eben abschalten.
Deshalb suche ich eine andere Lösung, z. B. den Power7-Port an dem das USV-Signal anliegt zu testen oder manipulieren zu können.
