OV400 -> MS Office

Hallo Zusammen,

ich bin gerade auf der Suche nach einer Möglichkeit die guten alten OV400 Dokumente in ein für Word bearbeitbares Format zu wandeln. Kennt sich damit jemand von euch aus oder hat sogar ne Lösung parat?

Tja, da stehst du sicherlich vor einem Problem.
Es gab mal einen RFTDCA-Konverter für Office97!!!
Unter Umständen hilft dieser auch noch bei Offive2003, höhere Versionen können damit Probleme haben.
Der Konverter ist 16-Bit!

Google mal nach RFTDCA.
Das Problem ist, dass die meisten Links auf die Microsoftseiten inzwischen nicht mehr funktioneren.

Wir haben unter Word 2000 damals ein Tool von Microsoft installiert (convpack.exe), welches die Möglichkeit bietet die OV400 Dokumente zu öffnen / bearbeiten und dann als .doc abzuspeichern.

Schon mit Word 2003 gab es dann Probleme das Tool zu installieren, da es auch keine neuere Version gibt, die OV400 unterstützt. Mit ein bisschen Fummelei ließ sich das Tool aber nochmal aktivieren. So ist es derzeit auf einem PC auch noch installiert.

Die convpack.exe habe ich noch, kann allerdings nicht sagen, wie sich das Tool unter Word 2007 / 2010 verhält.

Hallo nedo

Vor Jahren habe ich das im nachstehend beschriebene Programm wordcnv-1.1 mit Erfolg verwendet. Ob die erstellte Word-Dokumente mit einem heutigen Word-Version verwendet werden können, weiss ich leider nicht.

Bei Interesse stelle ich gerne zur Verfügung, was ich habe.

What it does
------------

wordcnv allows you to convert documents to whatever format Word can convert
them to/from. It uses the converters that MS Office uses.


How to use
----------

wordcnv uses the converter dll's from Microsoft Office. A few are already
included in a standard Windows 98 installation; Wordpad relies on them.
Usually they can be found in:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Textconv\

The dll's have the extension .cnv -- but really they are just regular
dll files with a different extension.

wordcnv looks in this location per default for the converter dll's. If they
are in a different location you can specify that by setting the WORDCNV_DIR
environment.

Note that the converters all convert from or to rtf; probably rtf is
internally the de-facto standard, but this is too easy too parse on
non-Microsoft operating systems, so it seems likely that the binary Word
formats exist simple to make sure people will have to use Word (it's all part
of the plan for world domination!).

If you convert Word to html, really the converters will first convert Word
into rtf, and then into html.

I recommend installing the MS Office 2000 Converter Pack:

You can identify a file with wordcnv -d file

You can convert a file with

wordcnv -x CLASS --i CLASS file.in file.out

If "-i CLASS" is omitted, the class is autodetected. The default export
is RTF, so if -x CLASS is omitted, RTF is outputted. Use the class
from the list obtained from wordcnv -l.

The most interesting part is the file disk/sdk32.doc. The example
code is an ugly kludge, the code of WordPad is much better. This
