Hallo Tarasik,

APAR#: II10583
Component: INFOAS400 - AS/400 Information
Release(s): R310

Abstract
OSP-AFP TO ASCII HPT DIFFERENCES

Error Description
HPT differences from AFP printing
Point size will only work with supported typographic fonts.
Fixed pitch fonts cannot use the point size parameter. GDDM &
*VECTOR fonts are not supported.
CHRSIZ keyword is not supported. HPT rasterizes an image off of
an OS/400 outline font, thus there is no 'font' of that size to
rasterize the image from. HPT to something like a PCL based
printer will 'scale' fonts if the 'host' based font resource
is an 'outline' font and is in the system font libraries.
The 'Printer Device Programming' Guide(SC41-4713) has tables
in the back of the publication that reference FGID's(printer
resident fonts) to HOST font resources. As long as the HOST
font resource is available(and is an outline font), HPT's will
rasterize an image off of the font and send it to the printer.
Be aware that this is a 'bit mapped' image and printer perfor-
mace may suffer.
