ich kenne den Sitemanager nicht, aber per Zufall hatte ich neulich folgendes gesehen:

Hallo Holger,

leider ist dies nicht das was ich suche, der Sitemanager wurde an eine Com-Schnittstelle angeschlossen und bildete trotz heruntergefahrener Maschine die Systemkonsole ab. Dadurch konnte man prima ein IPL von zu Hause aus auf einer ausgeschalteten Maschine absetzen.
Der Nachteil: diese Sitemanager-Software funktionierte nur unter DOS und nur mit Modem und ist somit bei IBM so wie manch gutes Ding nicht mehr im Support und wird schon garnicht weiterentwickelt.

:-( Schade eigentlich...

Ich brauche also etwas mit zugriff auf die Com-Schnittstelle.

wir wäre es denn mit dem Einsatz der Operations Console. Und auf diesen PC könntest Du dann zugreifen z. B. mit PC-Anywhere.

Die Operations Console kann das???? Mit der kann ich bei einer ausgeschalteten ISERIES die Systemkonsole auslesen??

Plan for your control panel
You can use your Operations Console connection to access the iSeries control panel without being in front of the server. To make this connection to the control panel you will need to configure a remote control panel or a virtual control panel. They are both a graphical interface to the iSeries control panel. The remote control panel allows you to perform most of the control panel functions from a local or remote location. The virtual control panel allows you to perform most of the control panel functions from a local location. To review your control panel options, comparisons, and setup instructions see the Control panel topic.


Allerdings würde ich nicht die remote-Funktionen von Operations Console empfehlen, sondern wirklich PC-Anywhere oder ähnliches.
