Client Access 5250 Emulation nicht installierbar.

Hi NG'ler,
ich habe an einem PC bei uns ein Problem mit der Installatio von Client Access für WinNT bzw. Client Access Express.
Damit wir auf unsere AS400 zugreifen können brauchen wir die PC 5250 Emulation. Diese geb ich auch immer zum Installieren an, installiert wird es aber wohl nicht vollständig, da ich keine Sitzung definieren kann. Es fehlen die kompletten Buttons z.B. "Sitzung starten oder konf." ...
Sämtliche Neuinstallationen schlugen fehl, und bei der Installation von Client Access Express tritt das gleiche Problem auf.

In einem ähnlichem Fall hat IBM bei mir empfohlen, alle (!!!) Windows-Programme vor der Installation zu schliessen. Besonders viel Wert wurde darauf gelegt, diverse Virenscanner-Programme zu beenden.
Ist bei Dir vielleicht auch ein Versuch wert.
Und natürlich nicht das aktuelle Service Pack von CA vergessen.

Wichtig ist zusätzlich, dass die Installation unter Admin erfolgt und nach Neustart des PC's die erste Anmeldung zwingend wieder Admin ist, da sonst CA unvollständig installiert wird.
Das gilt auch für Service-Packs !

Wenn der Virenscanner läuft kann es sogar zum Absturz oder Hängenbleiben der Installation kommen !!!

Auch wenn z.b. MS-Office (Shortcut-Leiste) geöffnet ist, kann es zu diesem Phänomen kommen.

Hallo Christian,

wenn in der Registry irrtümlich ein Eintrag für Personal Communications steht, kann die 5250 Emulation nicht installiert werden.

Hier der Text von IBM

Trying to install PC5250, but the PC thinks there is already a copy of the product on the PC. What do you do?

1 From Start (on task bar), select Run, key in REGEDIT and press the Enter key.
2 Go to HKEY_Local_Machine, Software, and IBM.
3 Check for Personal communications folder (highlight and delete).
4 Check for NSCMPKG folder for PCOMPKG folder. (Delete it if you find it.)
5 Check for Trace Facility folder (highlight and delete).
6 Lastly, check IBM, Client Access, Current Version, Selectively_Installable_Components, and remove EMULATOR folder if it is there.

If you find any of the folders mentioned, delete them, then try to run the Client Access/400 Install again. You may need to run the full Client Access/400 install (the selective setup may or may not work).
