newbie und frage zur installatiom

hallo an alle,

bin eigentlich recht neu auf dem gebiet iseries etc. ich möchte unsere java developer
kit version von 1.1.8 auf die version 1.2 updaten.
bin aslo erst einmal hergegangen und habe mir angeschaut welche version druff ist. also go licpgm. daher weiss ich das es 1.1.8 ist. möchte nun 1.2 aufspielen. startze ich nun llizenzprogramme installieren werden mir schon folgende versionen angezeigt. 1.1.8 sowie 1.2 udn auch 1.3
releasestand ist v5r1. wie gehe ich nun bei dem update weiter vor.

V5R1 5722-JV1 Option 6 (JDK 1.4) iSeries Installation Instructions

Introduction

This document describes what you need to do to get JDK 1.4 (also known as Java 2 Java Development Kit 1.4) operational on your iSeries system. This is contained in the special Retain PTF 5722-JV1 SI05336 ordable from Boulder, Colorado.

Before You Begin

For JDK 1.4 to work on your iSeries, have V5R1M0 installed with PTF CUM package C2134510 or later. In addition, 5722-JV1 Option *BASE must also be installed along with Java group PTF 11 or higher. Follow the instructions below to install the Java Group PTF and 5722-JV1 Option 6.




Caution: It is very important that you install the Java Group PTF before you install Option 6. Do not install Option 6 until you have the correct level of the Java Group PTF installed.


Java Group PTF

Order and install the Java group PTF, SF99069. Follow the instructions included with the group PTF. Use the following command to verify that the correct level of the group PTF has been installed:

DSPDTAARA QJAVA/SF99069
Output will show 'Group PTF#: SF99069-11' or later, along with a date. To install the group PTF do the following:

On the iSeries command line, type the following:

GO PTF

Press the Enter key.

Select Option 8

Specify PTF, type 1 (all PTFs), and specify automatic IPL Y.

Install 5722-JV1 Option 6

JDK 1.4 is product 5722-JV1 Option 6. This is contained in Retain PTF 5722-JV1 SI05336. Order this PTF which will be sent to you on a CD. Read the cover letter which contains additional information.

Load the CD containing the PTF in the drive. On the OS/400 command line, type the following:

RSTLICPGM LICPGM(5722JV1) OPTION(6) RSTOBJ(*PGM) DEV(OPTxx)

where OPTxx is the ID of your CD drive. Press the Enter key.

Install the Java Group PTF SF99069-11 Again

On the iSeries command line, type the following:

GO PTF

Press the Enter key.

Select Option 8

Specify PTF, type 1 (all PTFs), and specify automatic IPL Y.

Verify the Functionality of JDK 1.4

Use the following command to verify that JDK 1.4 is working on your system:

JAVA CLASS(Hello) PROP((java.version 1.4))

A screen is shown displaying the following:

Hello World
Java program completed

Press the Enter key on this screen to return to the iSeries command entry screen.

If this command does not complete successfully, contact your service representative for help in getting JDK 1.3 to work on your system.

Using JDK 1.4 on your iSeries

In V5R1, 5722-JV1 supports Options 3 through 6. The default JDK used on the system is listed by order of preference below:

Option 4 (JDK 1.1.8)

For example, if the iSeries has all four supported options installed. Option 5 (JDK 1.3) is the default. To force the use of JDK 1.4 when using Java, specify the 'java.version=1.4' property as in the Verify example above. To make JDK 1.4 the default when JDK 1.3 is installed, set the java.version property to 1.4 in the SystemDefault.properties file (for example, specify "java.version=1.4" inside the file). The SystemDefault.properties file is not shipped as part of the JDK 1.4 LPP; it is a text file that is created by the user. Place the file in one of the following:

User Home : /home/userid/SystemDefault.properties
o
Java Home : /QIBM/UserData/Java400/SystemDefault.properties

The priority in which properties are used is:

User specifies on the JAVA command

Environment variable

User Home

Java Home

It is advised to place the SystemDefault.properties only in your User Home. Placing it in Java Home causes all users on the system to pick up the values in this file.

Hallo,

bist Du sicher, dass Du Dich nicht verguggt hast? Bei V5R1 sollte eigentlich in jedem Fall 1.2 druff sein, wenn nicht gar 1.3.1. Falls Deine Brille intakt ist, wäre was oberfaul mit der Installation und ihr solltet dringendst Fehlermeldung an IBM machen.

hallo,

nach weiteren suchen bin ich druff gestoßen das 1.3 sowie 1.2 dabei waren aber nicht unter lizensierte module eingespielt. dieses musste ich dann nur von der richtigen cd einspielen und schon war es uffgespielt. danke
