Guten morgen liebes Forum,

ich plane den upgrade von V5R2 auf V5R3 und lese mich in die Vorbereitungen ein. Da schreibt IBM, es ist ratsam vor upgrade einen Datenbereich für die Zeitzone mit dem i-series Navigator erstellen. Nun habe ich den Navigator von V5R3 mit einem OS/400 mit V5R2 laufen und die Option Zeitmanagement wird aufgrund von Nichtunterstützung nicht nur Verfügung gestellt.

Wie erstelle ich dann diesen Datenbereich ?

wo ist jetzt genau das Problem ? Gibt es im Opsnav das
Problem, dass die Funktionalität fehlt oder liegt es
am Betriebssystem. Kannst Du einmal den Hinweis der IBM
posten ?

Zu Timezone gibt es viele Dokumente bei der IBM die nur für
Partner zugänglich sind, brauche aber dazu konkretere
Hinweise.

Setting the time zone before upgrading
If you are upgrading from a previous release of OS/400 to OS/400 V5R3 or later, it is recommended that you set up your time zone before you upgrade to the new release. This ensures that your system time is set properly as soon as the upgrade is complete. To set the time zone before upgrading, you must have a supported release for the OS/400 software upgrade.

To define the time zone object for the system before an OS/400 software upgrade, create a data area named QWCTIMZON in the system (QSYS) library. When you perform an initial program load (IPL), the server uses this object when attempting to determine the default value for the time zone (QTIMZON) system value. For more information on how the system determines the time zone to use when upgrading to a new release of the OS/400 system, see Initial time zone setting.

To create the data area for the time zone, complete the following:

Sign on to your OS/400 server using a 5250 emulator session.
Type the following command:
CRTDTAARA
and press F4.
Specify QWCTIMZON for the name of the Data Area (DTAARA).
Specify QSYS for the library of the Data Area (DTAARA).
Specify *CHAR for the Type parameter.
Press Enter.
Specify 16 for the Length parameter
For the Initial Value, use the following format: Byte 1: Sign for current Offset from UTC (either '+' or '-')
Byte 2-3: Hours for current Offset from UTC (00 to 12)
Byte 4: Time separator
Byte 5-6: Minutes for current Offset from UTC (00 to 59)
Byte 7-16: Time zone description name, left justified and padded on the right with blanks. (See Time zone for a list of names.)

Press Enter to create the data area.
During the upgrade of the OS/4000 operating system, the server uses this data area to set the time zone (QTIMZON) system value.

Hallo Tarasik,

Danke für die Antwort, ich habe mir jetzt einen Datenberereich QWCTIMZON in der QSYS angelegt : '+02:00QP0100CET2'. Mein Problem mit dem OPSNAV V5R3 und dem OS/400 V5R2 ist, daß der vorgeschlagene Lösungsweg über das Zeitmanagement nicht klappt, da dieses Feature im OPSNAV nicht vom V5R2 unterstützt und daher nicht auswählbar ist !

Hallo Andreas,
ich denke das Problem ist, dass der Systemwert für die
Timezone, der erst mit R530 mitkommt, nicht mit R520 vorhanden ist.
